The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission announced a recall on September 24 of about 21,380 NEWDERY power banks sold on Amazon. The agency says their lithium-ion batteries can explode or ignite, creating fire and burn hazards. This is a product-specific recall, not an announcement of a new Amazon-wide seller policy. What the notice covers

The affected model is ZHX-PB22: a black power bank with yellow cables, the NEWDERY name on the front and the model number on the back. According to the CPSC, the products were sold on Amazon from October 2023 through November 2024 for between $27 and $50.
